Dr Jayneet Patel

Specialist Orthodontist

Jayneet carried out his undergraduate training at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital trust, qualifying in 2006. Following a year in general dental practice, he undertook two years of further training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at St Georges Hospital and Paediatric dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute. During this time, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. In 2009, he commenced the 3 year Specialist Orthodontic training at the Royal London Hospital, completing a Masters in Science degree in 2011, and the Intercollegiate Membership in Orthodontics (IMOrth) in 2012, from the Royal College of Surgeons, England.

Jayneet continues to work part time as an Associate Specialist in Orthodontics at the Royal London Hospital, where he enjoys teaching undergraduate students and treating patients with complicated treatment plans. He is registered with the General Dental Council, and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, England as well as the British Orthodontic society and European Orthodontic Society.

Mr Anish Shah

Specialist and Consultant Oral Surgeon

Anish is a consultant oral surgeon with over 15 years specialist experience. He qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1999 with double honours and embarked on a career in oral surgery. He also works for South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and is a Member and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. His expertise lies in all aspects of oral surgery such as complex wisdom teeth removal, cyst removal, biosy of patches, apicectomy and tongue tie surgery.

Anish has also developed a special interest in oral medical conditions such as oral ulcerations, burning mouth syndrome and lichen planus. He is one of the clinical leads for community dental services for SE Essex and lectures nationally and internationally on oral surgery. He contributes to medical journals and has published many articles on oral surgery and oral medicine.

Dr Shray Patel

BDS, MJDF PGDip, DClindent Periodontics, MPerio RCS (Ed)

Specialist in Periodontology

Shray is a registered Specialist Periodontist. He graduated as a dentist from King’s College London in 2013 and has worked in both general practice and at the Oral and Maxillofacial unit in the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford During this time he completed his Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of Scotland as well as his Postgraduate Diploma.

Shray then went on to complete his extensive three-year Periodontology Specialist training at Queen Mary University of London where he gained his Docatorate in Clinical Dentistry and Membership of Periodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He subsequently gained his inclusion on the Specialist Register.

Shray is passionate about periodontology and the important role it plays in the oral and general health of his patients. He is committed to providing high quality treatment and wants all his patients to feel happy and confident with their teeth and gums. His practice is now limited to periodontology and implants. He is a keen learner and is constantly looking to develop his skills further as technology advances.

In his spare time, Shray enjoys playing sport, mainly cricket, tennis and football. He is also a keen mountain climber and likes transferring his dental and problem-solving skills into various DIY projects.

Dr Kostas Ioannidis

Specialist in Endodontist

Kostas was awarded a Student Scholarship by the Hellenic Scientific Society and the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation (www.iky.gr) and graduated from the School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2007.

In 2010, he successfully completed the MSc Degree of Specialization in Endodontics (Dept. of Endodontology, School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece). This is one of the very few programs across Europe, which is accredited by the European Society of Endodontology (E.S.E.), providing the Specialty Certificate in the E.U.

In 2011, Kostas entered his name in the General Dental Council Specialist List in Endodontics (UK) successfully. Over the last 10 years, Kostas provides specialist endodontic referral services in Central and Greater London areas, Kent, Surrey, Wiltshire and Hertfordshire. Kostas has also worked for the National Health Service (NHS) at Guy’s Hospital, Central London NHS Trust and operated the NHS Specialist Referral service for the Lewisham area in South East London for 7 years.

In 2013, Kostas decided to progress in his academic career at Guy’s Hospital, Centre for Oral Clinical & Translational Science, Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences, King’s College London, UK. In 2019, he completed his PhD in Endodontology and Dental Materials with title: ‘Formation of toxic disinfection by-products during chemomechanical preparation of infected root canals and alternative methods for root canal disinfection’.

Currently, Kostas serves as a Clinical Alumni (KCL Dental Institute, Unit of Distance Learning, LonDEC, Waterloo Campus, MSc in Endodontics) and is a Honorary Post-Doctoral Research Associate (Centre for Host-Microbiome Interactions, Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences, King’s College London, UK). He lectures to the postgraduate students of the MClinDent Specialist Training pathway, as well as the MSc (distance learning) in Endodontics.

During the second Covid lock-down in UK, Kostas attended a course in medical forensics and was recently awarded with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences (Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences, UK).

He believes in continuous education, professional development and life-long learning. He is author in several scientific publications in journals with high impact factor and lectures in prestigious international and hellenic conferences. He is an active member of the British Endodontic Society, European Society of Endodontology and the International Association of Dental Research. Kostas is manuscript reviewer in several international per-reviewed dental Journals.

In his limited spare time, he enjoys travelling, playing basketball and attending to music concerts.
