Cerec Ceramic Inlays in Battersea
Natural-looking, perfectly fitting porcelain inlays in a single visit. Longer lasting than regular fillings and virtually undetectable, Cerec inlays fix cavities and tooth damage for better strength. Metal fillings can weaken tooth strength by up to 50%. Porcelain inlays can increase tooth strength by up to 75% and last between 10 & 30 years.
CEREC® Ceramic Inlays at Mouth Dental
Our on-site printing and digital dentistry facilities allow us to perform a CEREC inlay in one chairside session. You don’t have to wait weeks for the final product. Each inlay is customised to individual specifications using dental impressions. Impressions are taken with digital scans to achieve a high level of precision. No messy putty is involved. The software can produce a simulation, so you know how the results will look.
A Cerec computer completes the 3D model and sends it to a diamond-coated milling machine. The ceramic block placed in the machine prints the final product. The tooth-coloured ceramic is then polished and stained to simulate the natural enamel and colour of your teeth.
The inlay is carefully bonded. Unlike regular fillings, you do not need a temporary filling and a second visit for a permanent restoration. Inlays require only minimal preparation, which means less drilling. Mouth restorative dentistry treatments ensure you get to keep as much of your natural tooth as possible. We ensure your bite feels natural and comfortable.

Frequently asked questions
What are inlays?
An inlay is a pre-moulded filling bonded into the central grooves of back teeth to restore cavities. These are custom-made to fit the cavity precisely and resemble the missing original tooth structure.
In what instances are inlays needed?
Inlays replace tooth structure when decay has not affected the cusps. They can also restore damaged or fractured areas of a tooth. Large dental fillings can weaken the remaining tooth structure. Inlays prevent the need for large fillings when the damage is extensive. When there isn’t sufficient tooth material to remove, inlays can support a mounting crown.
Are you a suitable candidate for inlays?
Inlays are suitable for moderate tooth decay. Patients with extensive decay may require an onlay or crown instead. Inlays are not suitable for root canals. Inlays and onlays can also replace existing fillings. If you have a filling that cannot support strength in the existing tooth or is weakening the tooth, you can use an inlay.
What are the different types of inlays?
Inlays can be porcelain, composite resin, gold, or zirconia. Tooth-coloured ceramic is a more popular choice due to its natural appearance.
What are CEREC Ceramic Inlays?
CEREC® Ceramic Inlays use ultramodern CAD/CAM technology to print out an inlay from a ceramic block. A 3D model of the cavity gets made on a Cerec computer, and a milling machine reproduces it to exact specifications.
How does CEREC differ from other types of inlays?
Cerec inlays require only one visit and are made on-site. Regular inlays can take 1-2 weeks for a lab to fabricate and send to your dentist. They resemble the natural colour of your teeth and the natural tooth structure. Impressions are taken with digital scans and not with dental putty.
What are the benefits of CEREC Ceramic Inlays?
You will not have to wear temporaries. They do not require a lot of grilling, and only a minimal tooth material gets removed. Cerec ceramic inlays are sturdier and are not prone to fracture like conventional ceramic restoration. The material simulates the natural enamel and shine. Cerec inlays provide long-term protection and strength to your teeth.
How long does the procedure take?
The treatment does not take more than 2hrs. It is a single-visit chairside session.
What is the recovery period?
Cerec inlays do not need downtime. However, you may feel sensitivity, soreness, or numbness in the restored area, which subsides in a few days.
How do you take care of your dental health after treatment is received?
Avoid foods and drinks of extreme temperatures and sticky or hard foods for 48 hours. Dentists recommend a soft food diet for a few days. Clean your teeth gently the first few days and resume your regular oral hygiene routine. Make sure to visit the dentist for regular dental exams.
How much does CEREC Ceramic Inlays cost?
CEREC® One Visit inlays start from £745
