Veneers, Bridges and Crowns

Our team of specialists provide a range of treatments such as Veneers, Bridges and Crowns to enhance your look and restore the functionality of your teeth.

Endodontists

Veneers

We encourage the most minimally invasive technique to the individual patient’s requirements; your treating dentist will advise you during appointment.

The procedure is straightforward; your dentist will deliver local anaesthetic so that you are comfortable during treatment. A minimal amount of enamel may be removed from your tooth depending on the individual case. An impression is then taken and this is sent along with the shade and photographs of your teeth to our dental ceramicists who will make the veneer by hand. At this point a temporary veneer is placed over the tooth to protect it until the permanent veneer is ready to be fitted. Up to a few weeks later your new veneer will return from the ceramicist and a second appointment should be made to fit the veneer. Minor adjustments will be carried out if required to ensure that the result is even and natural.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The veneer colour is permanent. Porcelain is not a porous material so therefore not susceptible to staining or lightening as with the rest of your teeth. To achieve natural-looking veneers the colour is matched to the colour of the rest of your teeth at the time the veneer is fitted.

If you are considering whitening your teeth, it is important to carry out this treatment prior to fitting a veneer so that your teeth and new veneer match evenly.

Bridges

A bridge is an alternative to partial dentures. The procedure allows the dentist to attach a replacement tooth (or teeth) to natural teeth on either side of the gap. Some bridges have crowns at each end and others are fixed to the surface of the teeth next to the gap. Bridges can be manufactured from several materials. Our porcelain bridges are crafted by hand by technicians that are highly skilled. These bridges are designed to look ‘invisible’ and undetectable so it would be impossible to tell you were missing a tooth.

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth that can often look unsightly and subsequently damaging to confidence. There are also many health benefits to getting a bridge also that include avoiding developing jaw problems caused about by an incorrect bite due to the gap or gaps. Gaps can also cause gum disease and decay when food gets trapped inside, which a bridge can prevent.

A more satisfactory alternative to bridges are dental implants. Implants are a more permanent solution suitable for all age groups. Implants are more expensive but excellent value for money. Please see our section on Implants for further details.

Crowns

A crown is a bespoke cover designed to restore a tooth damaged by decay or fracture to its natural look and strength. It has the shape and colour of a natural tooth. Crowns are handcrafted by our skilled dental technicians to match the specific shape and colour of your natural teeth. We recommend a crown when too much of a tooth is lost due to decay or fracture and a filling is not considered strong enough. A crown restores the original shape and function of the tooth. It is strong and is designed to fit in naturally with all your other teeth. The colour of crowns are permanent, they don’t darken or lighten as the rest of your teeth do. To make a crown as natural-looking as possible, its colour is matched to the colour of the rest of your teeth at the time the crown is fitted.
